List G Barristers member Richard Wilson honoured by Law Institute of Victoria

The Law Institute of Victoria has presented a President’s Honorary Award to List G Barristers member Richard Wilson for his commitment to human rights and administrative law.

At the recent LIV Legal Awards, Richard was honoured for his work in community consultation as co-chair of the LIV’s Reconciliation Action Plan and as chair of the Indigenous Issues and Aboriginal Reconciliation Committee. Richard was also acknowledged for his work in shaping the legal profession’s approach to mental health.

Current LIV president Michael Holcroft, described Richard as being a driving force behind many initiatives at the Institute and in particular, as chair of the LIV’s Charter of Rights Committee in 2011 which guided the LIV’s submission to the Review of the Charter of Human Rights and Responsibilities.
