List G Barristers is delighted to congratulate Bryan Keon-Cohen AM QC for his inclusion in the 2012 Australia Day Honours List, announced on 26 January 2012.
Bryan was awarded a Member in the General Division of the Order of Australia (AM) for his service to the law, and to the legal profession, through the advancement of social justice and the protection of human rights, particularly in the areas of environmental and Indigenous law reform.
Throughout his career, Bryan has appeared in several major Constitutional High Court cases. He appeared as Counsel for the Tasmanian Wilderness Society in the Tasmanian Dam Case, and for the Plaintiffs in the landmark Native Title cases of Wik and Mabo (No. 1 and No.2).
