Patrick O’Bryan-Gusah practises in commercial and public law, with an emphasis on competition and consumer, regulatory litigation, taxation, corporations and financial services law.

Patrick has acted in all stages of litigation, including investigations, interlocutory applications, trials and appeals in State and Federal Courts.

Prior to joining the Bar, Patrick was a Senior Lawyer at the Australian Government Solicitor, Associate to the Honourable Justice Hespe at the Federal Court of Australia, and an Associate in the Commercial Disputes team at Allens.

At the Australian Government Solicitor, Patrick’s clients included the ACCC, ASIC, the OAIC, the ATO, and the Commonwealth Department of the Treasury. He advised in areas including competition, consumer credit, corporations, taxation, privacy and foreign acquisitions law.

At Allens, Patrick acted for public and private corporate clients on matters in insurance, class action, tort, consumer law, judicial review, mergers, takeovers and regulatory applications.

Patrick holds a Juris Doctor, Bachelor of Arts and Diploma in Music from the University of Melbourne.

He is reading with Leana Papaelia and his senior mentor is Wendy Harris KC.
