She has a particular specialisation in discrimination, employment and industrial law.
Maxine holds a Master of Laws from New York University for which she received a Dean’s Graduate Award and a Bachelor of Arts and Law from Monash University (First Class Honours).
Maxine comes to the Bar with a broad range of experience in civil litigation. She commenced her career at the Commonwealth Attorney-General’s Department, working in administrative law, native title and international law. Maxine previously worked as a Senior Lawyer at a Union, specialising in industrial and employment law and at Victoria Legal Aid where she specialised in discrimination and sexual harassment law.
Maxine was an Associate to the Honourable Justice Bromberg at the Federal Court of Australia.
Maxine read with Eugenia Levine and her senior mentor is Jenny Firkin KC.
