Julia Lucas has a broad practice incorporating public and commercial law and regulatory prosecution

Since joining the bar, Julia has practiced predominantly in public law but also accepts briefs in employment and commercial law matters. She regularly appears unled in the Federal Courts and Tribunals and has a particular expertise in the area of immigration law.

Prior to coming to the bar, Julia was a Senior Lawyer with the Australian Government Solicitor in the General Administrative Law team. Her broad practice included Competition and Consumer Law, Workers’ Compensation and Law Enforcement.

Julia was also a solicitor in the Crown Solicitor’s Office of South Australia where she acted and appeared in a variety of administrative and disciplinary law matters, regulatory prosecutions and appeals. Julia was also Associate to the Honourable Justice Sulan of the Supreme Court of South Australia.

Julia read with Richard Knowles and her Senior Mentor is Rachel Doyle SC.
