Edward Moore

Edward has a broad commercial practice, with particular focus on taxation, contract and property law. He has also been briefed in planning, insolvency, costs, and owners’ corporation matters.
Prior to joining the Bar, Edward spent nine years in the public and private sectors working on complex taxation matters. Most recently, he was a senior manager at PwC, where he focussed on cross-border mergers and acquisitions and international tax issues. He previously spent two years at Greenwoods and Herbert Smith Freehills, advising large Australian companies in the financial services and real estate industries, and advising high net worth individuals. Edward started his career working for the ATO on rulings, audits, settlement negotiations and legislative design and spent a year at Treasury working on the taxation of superannuation and other retirement income policies.
Edward holds a law degree with first class honours from Monash University, where he also completed an honours thesis on the income tax general anti-avoidance rule. He also holds a Master of Taxation degree from Melbourne University (H2A), a Bachelor of Arts and a Diploma of Languages (German).
Edward read with Andrew De Wijn, and his senior mentor is Eugene Wheelahan KC.
