
Edward Moore

Recent work includes complex tax anti-avoidance appeals before the Full Federal Court, resisting a special leave application in the High Court of Australia, and complex income tax and evasion matters in the Administrative Review Tribunal. He has also appeared unled in various Supreme Court matters concerning insolvency, oppression, contract claims, misleading and deceptive conduct, estoppel and costs disputes.
He also advises on the legal implications of AI use, including in relation to data privacy, professional standards, regulatory compliance and liability for automated decision-making. Beyond advisory work, he presents regularly to legal audiences on the practical uses and risks of AI.
Prior to joining the Bar, Edward spent almost a decade working on cross-border mergers and acquisitions, complex corporate tax advice, and policy development. He has held roles at Greenwoods & Herbert Smith Freehills, the Commonwealth Treasury, the ATO and Big4 accounting firms.
Edward holds a law degree with first class honours from Monash University, where he also completed an honours thesis on the income tax general anti-avoidance rule. He also holds a Master of Taxation degree from Melbourne University (H2A), a Bachelor of Arts and a Diploma of Languages (German).
