Damien McAloon practises in a broad range of commercial matters

Damien’s particular expertise includes contractual disputes, banking and financial services litigation (including security enforcement) and corporations matters.  Damien appears in Doyle’s Guide's 2017 listing of the leading Victorian Commercial Litigation & Dispute Resolution Junior Counsel.

In addition to his general commercial practice, Damien has extensive experience in insolvency matters.  He has acted for secured and unsecured creditors, company directors and insolvency practitioners (in their capacity as receivers and managers, administrators, liquidators and trustees in bankruptcy).  Damien appears in Doyle’s Guide's 2017 listings of the “Leading Insolvency & Reconstruction Junior Counsel - Australia” and the “Leading Insolvency & Reconstruction Barristers - Victoria”.

Damien has acted in proceedings in both the Federal Court and the Supreme Court of Victoria concerning the operation of the Personal Property Securities Act 2009 (Cth) (PPSA).

Prior to coming to the Bar, Damien was a Special Counsel at Clayton Utz and conducted a broad range of litigation matters in the Federal Court, all Victorian Courts and other state Supreme Courts.
