Israel Cowen has a broad practice incorporating commercial law, intellectual property and public law

Prior to coming to the Bar, Israel served as an Associate to the Honourable Justice Middleton and as an Associate to the Honourable Justice Moshinsky at the Federal Court of Australia. Earlier, Israel worked as a solicitor at Allens on a range of intellectual property, corporate insolvency and tax litigation matters. 

Before studying law, Israel worked as an analyst at Goldman Sachs JBWere. He also has experience in the advertising and public relations industries. Whilst undertaking his Juris Doctor, Israel was an editor of the Monash University Law Review. 

Israel read with Daniel Crennan QC and his senior mentor is Philip Crutchfield QC.
