Caitlin O'Neil practises in public and commercial law.

Caitlin comes to the Bar with broad litigation experience. She has acted for government, corporate and individual clients in judicial review, criminal and commercial proceedings.

Prior to coming to the bar, Caitlin was a Senior Lawyer at the Australian Government Solicitor where she acted in complex and sensitive matters at all levels of the judicial hierarchy. This included acting in proceedings concerning national security, post-sentence orders, judicial review and the protection of sensitive information. She has also worked in the competition and litigation teams at Gilbert + Tobin, assisting corporate clients to navigate commercial litigation, regulatory investigations and merger clearance processes.

Caitlin was Associate to the Honourable Justice Steven Rares at the Federal Court of Australia. She holds Juris Doctor and Bachelor of Arts (Honours in History) degrees from the University of Melbourne, both with first class honours.

Caitlin is reading with Kate Burke and her senior mentor is Kathleen Foley SC.
