Rowena Orr QC has a broad practice incorporating public law, commercial law and tort law

Rowena has a particular interest in public law matters that intersect with the criminal justice system. Rowena has appeared in trials, appeals and interlocutory matters in the High Court, Supreme Court, Federal Court and in various tribunals.  

Prior to the Bar, Rowena was a Senior Solicitor with the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions; Associate to the Honourable Michael McHugh, then Justice of the High Court; and Associate to the Honourable John Macrossan, then Chief Justice of Queensland.  

Rowena has a Masters of Philosophy (Criminology) from the University of Cambridge and degrees in Law (Honours) and Economics from the University of Queensland. She was the recipient of a Cambridge Commonwealth Trust Scholarship.
