Practice Profile
Since coming to the Bar, Kate has built a broad practice in commercial, wills and estates, industrial and employment matters. She appears regularly in all state and federal courts, as well as tribunals. Kate also has a significant practice representing parties at mediation.
Kate appeared as junior counsel on behalf of the United Firefighters' Union of Australia at the 2009 Bushfires Royal Commission.
Prior to coming to the Bar, Kate completed her Articles and practised as a solicitor at Galbally & O'Bryan, mainly in family provision, commercial and employment matters. That work included regular appearances in the Supreme, Magistrates' and Federal Magistrates' Courts, VCAT, the Australian Industrial Relations Commission and at mediations.
Previously, Kate has worked as an Industrial Officer for an industrial organisation and as an Associate to Senior Deputy President of the Australian Industrial Relations Commission.
