Practice Profile
Charles Gunst took Silk in 1997. His principal areas of practice are employment, administrative and commercial law. He practises in the Victorian Supreme Court, the Federal Court and High Court and in other jurisdictions including New South Wales, the ACT and South Australia. He appears as a specialist advocate before courts and tribunals, both at first instance and at appellate level.
Charles has had extensive experience with Boards and Commissions of Enquiry. He was Counsel Assisting the Inquiry into the collapse of the Pyramid Group, and has more recently prepared several investigative Reports for Victorian public authorities.
He has been a member of the Victorian Bar Council and the Editorial Committee of the Victorian Bar News. Since 1982 and continuing to date he has been a Bar appointee to the Council of Law Reporting in Victoria.
